Our history

Over the past decade, my life has been deeply intertwined with the world of Siberian cat breeding. It all began when I met my first Siberian Arya Sibirskoe Chudo(Pictured) from Saint Petersburg, Russia. I was instantly enchanted by her striking blue eyes and gentle nature. From that moment, my journey as a breeder began.

As the years went by, I witnessed the magic of birth and suffered cats’ health scares, and had bright and gloomy moments as my cats were growing, getting older and some leaving me forever. Throughout my journey, I have developed deep bonds with my fur babies. Their unwavering loyalty, affection, and unique, human like personalities, have enriched my life immensely.

Watching the kittens changing from playful mischief-makers to confident and loving friends was a proof to my decision to breed cats. I took pride in socializing them, ensuring they were well-adjusted and ready to embrace their future homes. The happiness and gratitude expressed by their new families validated the years of my life dedicated to my breeding program.

our policies

These policies outlines the terms and conditions for the purchase, care, and ownership of kittens from Siberian Poem Cattery. The policy ensures the well-being of the kittens, promotes responsible ownership, and protects the interests of both the breeder and the buyer.

Adoption policy

We require a non-refundable deposit to reserve a place on the waiting list, or an existing kitten. The first person on the waiting list will have first pick of the litter (after the owner/breeder); second person on the list- second pick; etc. Payments may be made  by cash, Venmo or PayPal. When a kitten has been assigned to you/chosen by you, we deposit the check into a holding account. The balance is due upon delivery/pick up. You may choose to wait for another litter without losing your place on the waiting list only if we don’t have the desirable sex or color that you are looking for. If for any reasons you can’t honor your commitment to buy a kitten from the Siberian Poem Cattery, a deposit received for the kitten will be forfeited. You need to agree with our Adoption Policy terms and conditions prior to a reserving a kitten.

The kitten/kittens will be transferred to the Buyer in good health to the best of the Breeder knowledge. All kittens from the Siberian Poem Cattery will have age appropriate vaccinations and will be de-wormed at least once before they leave the cattery.  The Breeder will supply a health record to the Buyer with the kitten. The Buyer agrees to have the kitten/kittens examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase and agrees to notify the Breeder within 24 hours of any adverse findings other than stress-induced minor upper respiratory infection.   The Buyer agrees to provide a written report, signed by the examining licensed veterinarian, including the diagnosis and all test results the diagnosis is based on to the Breeder. The Buyer may return the kitten/kittens to the Breeder for a refund of the purchase price excluding deposit/reservation fees. No medical or travel charges will be refunded. Siberian Poem Cattery kitten/kittens are guaranteed against congenital diseases for one year. Should the cat die within that time as a direct result of a congenital disease, the cat will be replaced ONLY if an appropriate autopsy is performed by a licensed vet and a vet’s certificate is provided as proof of cause of death. A replacement will be made of a cat of comparable quality and value, as available, at the discretion of the breeder. FIV virus, FIP virus and FeLV virus are not genetic diseases and are not covered by this policy.

All follow-up vaccinations and ANY and ALL other veterinary health care treatments or expenses are the responsibility of the Buyer, including the cost of spay or neuter. We required a Buyer to have a kitten/kittens spayed/neutered when they achieve the proper age (four to six months for a female and eight  to 12 months for a male, but your veterinarian will make final determination). Your kitten will be registered with The International Cat Association (TICA); however, your pedigree registration papers will not be mailed to you until the Siberian Poem Cattery receives verification from a licensed veterinarian that your kitten has been spayed or neutered. Buyer assumes all risks of alteration surgery.  Breeder may confirm alteration of the kitten with the veterinarian certifying the alteration.  This is done to protect the natural breed of the Siberian cats. In the event that the purchaser fails to either alter the kitten within 8-10 months from the kitten’s birth date or provide written proof to the breeder, the Buyer agrees that the Breeder has the right to repossess the kitten with no obligation or refund from the Breeder.

We prefer that you pick up your kitten at our location and Buyer must pick up a new family member in person. Delivery/shipping may be provided for an additional fee.

The Buyer must agree that kitten/kittens will NEVER be declawed at any conditions. Kittens and cats have claws, puppies and dogs have toenails. However, the puppy’s toenails do not serve the same purpose as the kitten’s claws. Those claws are an integral part of the animal’s personality and lifestyle.  Declawing involves the amputation of the first joint of each toe, and the pain persists for months if not years. We believe declawing is a cruel, painful, and debilitating surgery that will adversely impact your kitten’s personality. Cats are very smart animals. Teaching them to use scratching posts and boards is very easy. Paying close attention to your kitten’s behavior when he/she arrives followed by a firm “NO” and redirection to acceptable scratching surfaces (when needed) is a very effective way to dissuade problem behaviors such as furniture scratching.

The Breeder has a first right to take kitten/kittens back without any refunds in the unfortunate event that the Buyer can no longer keep the animal and has no suitable placement. The Buyer agrees not to sell, lease, or give away the cat/kitten to any pet store, shelter, research lab, breeding mill, or similar facility. Further, the Buyer agrees not to sell, trade, give, lease, or otherwise release the animal to any other breeder without the written permission of Siberian Poem Cattery.

Allergy policy

Siberian Poem Cattery aims to accommodate buyers who develop allergies after purchasing a kitten and provides a fair return policy while ensuring the well-being of the kitten. Buyers are encouraged to assess their allergies beforehand and implement measures to reduce allergic reactions before making a commitment to adopt a kitten from Siberian Poem Cattery.

This policy outlines the procedure for addressing allergies in buyers who have purchased a kitten from the Siberian Poem Cattery. The policy allows for the return of the kitten within a 14 days period with a full refund excluding the deposit. The 14 day period is only applicable for people with no other animals in their home.

Here are some methods to help reduce reactions:

2. Feeding a well balanced natural food diet helps cats maintain a healthy coat which reduce shedding.

3. Allergy sufferer shell not  allow the cat to sleep on your pillow or even in the bedroom.

4. Using an air purifier helps to reduce allergens in the air .

There are no guarantees, but there is hope for allergy sufferers.
